Chinese Zodiac Years Have Two Different Starts!
There are two dates a Chinese zodiac year could be said to begin on, nor is January 1! China generally utilizes two schedules: the sun oriented schedule and the lunar schedule.
The customary sun oriented schedule has 24 fifteen-day sunlight based terms, and the principal, called 'Beginning of Spring', falls on February 4 (or 5).
The lunar schedule has 12 or 13 months and starts on Chinese New Year, which is some place in the period January 21 to February 20.
Most Chinese individuals utilize lunar New Year as the beginning of the zodiac year. However, for fortune telling and crystal gazing, individuals accept 'Beginning of Spring' is the start of the zodiac year.
